Art & creative tools, privacy, and finding a middle ground. Also kitties.
I've really wanted to downgrade my phone lately. I'm in the process of de-g**gling my life and really making sure I have control of any service I use. Has anyone ever used a custom OS on their cellphone? It's really the only way to completely get out of g**gle and *pple's grasp.
Looking at a pixel phone and GrapheneOS and alternately one of the options for LineageOS.
I'm amused that the logo for Graphene looks like the .hack//SIGN and .hack//G.U. games aesthetic, while Lineage looks like Inumaki's cursed speech marks from Jujutsu Kaisen. But that won't be the deciding factor for my future phone. Whatever I go with will provide the most privacy, and honestly it makes my head spin trying to figure out. But people on reddit say Graphene has more control and is less like android (I LIKE android phones but I don't want to sacrifice any control to it), so... IDK.
Yeah I am probably getting a pixel phone, just need to read around more. If anyone has any experience with this, let me know, I'd love to hear your opinions.
I'll probably not be able to draw on my phone anymore which was my favorite feature of my current phone, but given that I could probably get a cheap notebook with a touchscreen and put linux and Krita on it, I might as well just do that eventually. There is always my sketchbook.
I drew this Slayers fanart on paper, colored it in Clip Studio Paint on my current android.
IDK if I'm going to stick with my ipad or not. Procreate is still a great program to use, I would only be using that device for that, though.

That's enough rambling about that.
We got a kitty two weeks ago! His name is Mamoru and he's a sweet little black and white boy we rescued from a local shelter. Rogue (our spoiled little girl tabby with a personality) is pretty jealous. They haven't even stayed in the same room with each other because he was sick, so even though he's better now and we've opened the door to my room, he won't leave it and she just hisses from the hallway. There is a baby gate separating them and neither has crossed it. Just gotta give it time. ^^;

Mamoru is such a sweet little boy. He leans up into your hand and he's already figuring out how to get into places he shouldn't. 🙂😅 He's got to stay in a separate room while he and Rogue get used to each other's scents, plus he's finishing cold meds, but he already wants out to explore!
